I donned my favorite apron this morning.

Apron donned, the first thing I did was sneak out my bedroom’s back door (God bless the builder who thought of that door) to check on the garden. If I don’t sneak, I have 4 little people follow me out and then we get distracted and our day never starts with chores and schoolwork as it, sigh, must.
So, anyway, I snuck sneaked out the back door to check on the garden because we had the most outrageous storm last night and I was sure that all of our seeds must have bounced out of the soil and over the raised beds to their doom.
I was so very very pleased to find this instead…

Radishes
Also peeking this morning (what is it about a God watering that is so much more effective than a garden hose watering?) are spinach, red lettuce, and mustard babies. And one brave sweet pea baby.
I did chores, while I was out there, just so you know. I mowed.
Well, okay, my lawnmower mowed.

April doesn’t mind hard physical labor.
When I finally snuck sneaked back into the house, I found the children busy at their chores. Even though I was exhausted after all that mowing, I couldn’t help but get busy, too…

Oh, come on, you know knitting is work. And Googling important stuff is work, too.

Radishes! How fun to find something growing already. It is snowing here today and it is expected to continue through Friday, but I am still hoping my inside seed starts will show some green soon!
I can just see you sneaking out of the house but I am sure those kids heard the lawn mower!!! LOL
I just love your photos – they are gorgeous! And I so understand about the sneaking out, and then nobody doing chores, and then school gets started even later than normal
And your garden is great…I seem to kill everything but I blame it on Hawaii being so hot (it has nothing to do with me always forgetting to water).
Have a great day!
[...] think you’re supposed to keep the knitting urge when it’s Spring and the garden is growing, but I do still have the knitting urge, so that’s that. I am a whim-follower. This [...]
I LOVE that you are already getting radishes! At the same time I’m also very sad… We just tilled our garden up! We live in Northwest Arkansas…but if we plant now we are sure to face another hard freeze…starting over stinks! My thumb isn’t very green. Do you have any tips for planting times? I seem to get radishes before my lettuce and lettuce long before my green o’s!
